Launched on May 12, 2008 as GRITtv, The Laura Flanders Show reaches millions of viewers weekly on LinkTV and Free Speech TV on Dish Network and DIRECTV, as well as on cable stations nationwide and online. Distributed on multiple platforms, The LF Show is a weekly 30-minute discussion featuring innovative thinkers and doers with reality-based strategies for realizing radical change. The candidate should have experience and interest in working on a sophisticated political and cultural television show. Candidates need a strong track record in generating ideas, shooting, editing and creating original content. They should be self-starters familiar with working in the interview format and in the non-profit world.QUALIFICATIONS:
3 yrs min. production experience in both studio and field production & post-production
Demonstrable documentary or narrative based filmmaking experience
Proficiency working with studio and field video & audio equipment (including lights).
Must be able to deliver high quality pieces in short turnaround
Advanced Adobe Premiere editing skills
Experience organizing and setting up studio shoots and field shoots
Expertise in pitching, producing and editing field and studio segments
Experience collaborating with small team on tight timeline, using shared task management tools in transparent way etc.
Experience in dealing with various video file formats and delivery
Motion graphics/design skills not required but a plusBASIC REQUIREMENTS:Work Experience: 3 years minimum.
Non-Technical Skills: Strong organization and communications skills. Strong editorial judgment and ability to work closely with others. Deep engagement with social justice movements and issues and new media field.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Proficiency in DSLR shooting, Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop, audio recording w/ lavs and field recorders, familiarity with Canon C500’s and Sony cams (Fs7, Fs5, a7R), aptitude for fast-paced field shoots and studio shoots (including light setup).
