Laura Flanders Limited (LFL), a social justice media organization founded by journalist and activist Laura Flanders, is seeking to hire a motion graphics designer/video editor. We are based in NYC, but this job can be done remotely.

The weekly, syndicated Laura Flanders Show highlights the people and movements building a better, more just, world. The Laura Flanders Show is available in more than 100 million homes internationally through the teleSUR News Network, and in 30 million homes in the US through the LinkTV and Free Speech TV networks. Among our recent guests are Cornel West, Noam Chomsky, and Arundhati Roy, and we have recently featured exclusive reporting on worker-owned co-ops, the issues behind the uprisings in Baltimore and Ferguson, and sex work in Alaska. Laura Flanders is a veteran journalist and broadcaster, a contributor to The Nation and Yes! Magazine, as well as the author of six books.

The Motion Graphics Designer/Video Editor will be responsible for post-production work creating motion graphics, animation, and telling stories through the video editing process. This individual will collaborate with Producers to understand project scope and objectives and design motion graphics that transform complicated concepts into clear visuals; design and produce motion graphics/animation for video deliverables; assist in selecting audio, video, colors, animation, etc. for graphic design; participate in brainstorming sessions to share video and design perspectives and ideas; maintain and follow best practices for versioning control, naming convention and organization of graphic files and archiving.

A minimum of 2 years experience using Adobe CC - After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro but dedicated to making the best product no matter what software used
Creative and skilled in storytelling
Experience in typography, color, composition, compositing, key framing, and title design
Color correction experience
Creativity, with a strong visual sensibility and sense of pacing
Experience working in a collaborative, project-sharing environment

You are able to weave easily between storytelling, informational, and message-driven content.
You are organized, resourceful, fast, efficient and attentive to detail.
You are comfortable taking direction and receiving feedback.
You are resourceful, detail-oriented, able to work both independently and as part of a team, and be able to problem solve and meet deadlines.

Salary is competitive with comparable independent media positions.
