Seeking Winter/Spring 2019 Intern

The Laura Flanders Show is a TV and radio program that seeks to raise radical spirits by interviewing forward-thinking people who have real experience of shifting power, from the few to the many, in the worlds of arts, entrepreneurship and politics.

The Laura Flanders Show seeks a winter/spring intern to assist with daily administrative tasks and production. 

Hours: 20 - 30 per week

Duration: January 21 to May 21 

Pay: Stipend and travel (metrocard)

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Ideal candidate has shown demonstrated interest in nonprofit or social justice, as well as in media. There is an opportunity to work on the video, audio, podcast, or communications aspects of the show, although responsibilities will be decided specific to the candidate. 

The weekly, syndicated Laura Flanders Show highlights the people and movements building a better, more just, world. The Laura Flanders Show is available in more than 100 million homes internationally through the teleSUR News Network, and in 30 million homes in the US through the LinkTV and Free Speech TV networks. Among our recent guests are Cornel West, Noam Chomsky, and Arundhati Roy, and we have recently featured exclusive reporting on worker-owned co-ops, the issues behind the uprisings in Baltimore and Ferguson, and sex work in Alaska. Laura Flanders is a veteran journalist and broadcaster, a contributor to The Nation and Yes! Magazine, as well as the author of six books.
